LAMDA Examinations - London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is one of the oldest drama schools in the United Kingdom and began offering speech examinations to the public in the 1880s, it quickly established itself as a centre of excellence. Since then, these examinations have been refined and developed into a comprehensive system of performance evaluation by experts in education, acting and communication. LAMDA are now the UK’s largest statutory speech and drama awarding body.
I love teaching LAMDA because the syllabus is so broad; there really is something to suit everyone. Exams can be taken in acting, devised performance (improvisation), mime, verse and prose speaking, musical theatre and public speaking. These exams are accredited to the Qualifications Credit Framework giving equivalent points towards GCSE’s, A Levels and UCAS. LAMDA examinations are designed with a range of skills that will benefit children throughout their lives.
LAMDA lessons are available on weekdays for 1-2-1 or 2-2-1 private lessons subject to availability. Price upon request.
Preparation for an examination can unlock their imagination, develop communication skills and build self-confidence and self-esteem. I recommend LAMDA exam classes for children of all ages who struggle with confidence, need to improve their English, have a gift for Drama or may be keen actors! Trial class available. Once students are enrolled they are committed until the next exam session or a terms notice must be given.
