Who we are
Emma Hammond Theatre Academy was created by Principal Emma Hammond in 2013, bringing Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre to Kingston upon Thames.
Classes are held in Chessington and New Malden with more classes coming soon.

Emma began dancing from a young age at the Linda Mortimore School of Dance in Devon, and studied for her ISTD teaching certificates (DDE) in Tap and Modern at Totnes School of Dance before going on to do a Diploma in Performing Arts at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA). Emma finished her training at London Studio Centre, performing in musicals and music videos whilst in training and graduating with a BA(Hons) in Theatre Dance and Diploma in Musical Theatre.
Having gained a scholarship place on the BBOdance Level 6 extended diploma in dance education course, Emma has now achieved Registered Teacher Status with the British
Ballet Organisation and QTLS status.
Emma has taught dance, drama and musical theatre at various primary and secondary schools across the country as well as in independent dance and theatre schools alongside running her own classes.
Emma set up EHTA after the birth of her first son Joseph in 2013, adding more and more classes since returning to work after the birth of baby Jonathan in 2015. Teaching is Emma's passion and she is excited to be realising her dream of running a Theatre Academy and sharing her talents with her students. Her mission statement is to make theatre accessible to the whole community.
